| What do I need in order to hear background MIDI music? |
| |
Background music may be included on your greeting card in the form of a MIDI file. MIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface.
To play and listen to the MIDI files, you must have sound card in your computer that supports MIDI playback.
Most sound cards do support MIDI, as long as the proper software drivers are installed. You might also need
to configure your browser or raise the volume on your computer's speakers.
For AOL users:
- Click on My Aol
- Select Preferences
- Select General , please confirm that the Enable Event Sounds Box is checked
- If not, check this box
- Click Okay, Return to Web Page and Click, "Click to Play Music!"
- If you continue to have problems, please contact AOL directly.
For Non-AOL users:
If you have tried the troubleshooting techniques above and you are still having trouble hearing music, please click here to download the Free Crescendo Midi Plug-In
Please Note: After successfully downloading this plug-in, click on the downloaded file to install the plug-in.
For Mac users:
Please visit the Quicktime web site and select Quicktime Installer. After downloading, you must click on the file to install. This download is quite large, so we recommend the plug-in offered by Crescendo as a first option.
If you want to know more about MIDI files, you can visit the MIDI Home Page.
If you have some other MIDI questions, you might be able
to get some answers from The MIDI Forum.
